Recommended Dosage

Take 1 capsule with food every 5 days. Note: Recommended dose should not be exceeded. Not suitable for children. Monitor Levels: Regular monitoring of serum 25(OH)D levels is crucial to avoid toxicity. Always consult a healthcare provider before starting high-dose supplementation. Regular monitoring of blood calcium, phosphorus, and kidney function is recommended.

Daily Requirements

Vitamin D3

The contradictory information surrounding daily requirements for vitamin D intake can be confusing. Daily recommendations vary greatly between different organisations and governing bodies. For example, the EU recommends a daily intake of 200 IU for adults, while the German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends 800 IU. However, numerous researchers and nonprofit organisations believe that these recommendations are too low and are not enough to prevent deficiency. An intake of at least 1500 - 2000 IU or 3000 - 6000 IU are recommended by the American Endocrine Society and the Vitamin D Council (USA), respectively. Find more information here and here. It's crucial however to recognize that excessive vitamin D intake can lead to toxicity. The tolerable upper intake level for adults is generally set at 4,000 IU (100 µg) per day. Therefore, any supplementation beyond standard recommendations should be undertaken cautiously and under medical supervision. It is recommended to take 1 capsule of Vitamin D 5.000 IU with food every 5 days.

Vitamin K2

The German Nutrition Society (DGE) recommends a daily intake of at least 70 micrograms (µg) of vitamin K for adults. However, this recommendation does not differentiate between vitamin K1 (phylloquinone) and vitamin K2 (menaquinones). Emerging research indicates that vitamin K1 and K2 have distinct physiological roles. Vitamin K2 is crucial for the carboxylation of specific proteins, such as matrix Gla protein (MGP) and osteocalcin, which are vital for bone health and vascular function. Some studies suggest that complete carboxylation of these proteins may require vitamin K2 intakes starting from 100 µg per day. Note: Currently, there are no specific dietary intake recommendations for vitamin K2, and its precise requirements have yet to be scientifically established. Nonetheless, the potential health benefits associated with adequate vitamin K2 intake underscore the importance of distinguishing between the different forms of vitamin K in dietary guidelines.

Warnings:

Individuals consuming more than 50 mcg (2,000 IU)/day of vitamin D (from diet and supplements) should periodically obtain a serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D measurement. Vitamin D supplementation is not recommended for individuals with high blood calcium levels. Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements cannot replace a balanced, varied diet and healthy lifestyle. Keep out of reach of children.
